Pope Francis drinks a glass of water while addresses a Joint Meeting of Congress
United States congressman Bob Brady, a Roman Catholic, told the Philadelphia Daily News that he admitted to taking a glass of water that touched the lips of Pope Francis and swilling the leftover liquid with family and colleagues.
Brady said he took it to his office and had a drink. So did his wife, Debra, and two staffers, he said.
“How many people do you know that drank out of the same glass as the pope?” Brady asked.
The congressman said he also invited fellow Catholic and Democrat US Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania into his office. Casey, his wife and his mother dipped their fingers into the water. Brady transfer the remaining water into a bottle, so he can bless his four grandchildren and one great-grandchild with it.
ABCNews reported that Brady represents part of Philadelphia, is looking forward to the pope’s visit to the City of Brotherly Love, according to his press office. The congressman plans on attending the Holy Mass and listening to the pope’s speech during the weekend that the pope is in Philly.
