Turmerone May Could fix Brain Cell

Based on recent studies, turmerone aromatic compounds contained in turmeric could fix brain cell or to trigger the growth of new cells. This can be evaluated to treat brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s.

Researchers from Germany, doctors Adele Rueger says some substances that have been described to expand reproductive stem cells in the brain and make stem cells into nerve cells.

The scientists tested the effects of these aromatic turmerone on endogenous neural stem cells (NSC) is in the adult brain. Research done on mice by injecting turmerone aromatic. Apparently, the NSC can develop into neurons or nerve cells. In mice, injection of the aromatic turmerone cause expansion in two key brain regions, namely subventricular zone (SVZ) and the hippocampus.

The findings are then published online in the journal Stem Cell Research & Therapy. Turmeric contains curcumin, known also can heal inflammation and cancer cells.

However, Doctor Laura Phipps, of Alzheimer’s Research UK, assesses research remains to be proven whether more could cure brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease.

“It is not clear whether the results of this research will be applied to humans, or the ability to produce new brain cells in this way will benefit those who suffer from Alzheimer’s,” said Laura.
