Kidney stones are caused by increased concentration of calcium salts in the urine due to consuming overly-salty foods or insufficient secretion of fluid through the skin. Also, if you use painkillers for a long period, that can cause formation of stones in the kidney.
Preventing the formation of kidney stones:
- Drink at least 2 liters of liquids a day, especially mineral water without carbon dioxide, juices, teas (currant, carrot, celery ..)
- Teas of nettle and pomegranate improve the ejection of uric acid.
- Change of diet: avoid excessively salty foods, salt your food with vegetable salt, avoid purine-containing foods (most in the innards), eat more celery and parsley.
